  • Ashland University’s Coburn Gallery to Host Exhibition

    The Coburn Art Gallery at Ashland University will host an art exhibition in conjunction with the University’s Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing Summer Program. The exhibition will feature artists E. A. Meuser and Catherine Haven Kirby. E.A. Meuser is a Kentucky artist and Ohio native.

  • Ashland University Social Work Program Receives Reaccreditation

    The Social Work Program at Ashland University has received reaccreditation from the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) Commission on Accreditation. The Commission granted the full eight-year accreditation, giving the program accredited status through June 2018.

  • Ashland University Receives $5 Million Challenge Gift

    Ashland University announced Tuesday that it has received a $5 million naming challenge gift for a new academic building for its College of Nursing. Ashland University President Dr. Frederick Finks said the $12 million campaign for the College of Nursing, which will be located in Mansfield, received a jump start through this $5 million challenge gift from Ashland University alumnus and longtime supporter Dwight Schar. The gift will match dollar for dollar other gifts to the campaign.

  • Merger Agreement Signed

    The presidents of Ashland University and MedCentral Health System signed an official merger agreement on Tuesday afternoon on the front porch of the MedCentral College of Nursing in Mansfield.

    The agreement, signed by Ashland University President Dr. Frederick J. Finks and James E. Meyer, MedCentral Health System president and CEO, follows approval of the merger between Ashland University and MedCentral College of Nursing by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

  • Ashland University Finishes Seventh in National All-Sports Standings

    Ashland University has finished seventh in the 2009-2010 Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup and Ashland had the highest finish of any private institution. A year ago, Ashland placed sixth in the country in the all-sports standings, which was the school's best finish in the all-sports trophy. This is the third consecutive year Ashland University has finished in the nation’s Top 10.
