  • Ashland Seminary Professor to Present Free Lecture

    1/7/13 ASHLAND, Ohio – Dr. John Byron, professor of New Testament at Ashland Theological Seminary, will present a lecture titled “Fakes, Forgeries and Frauds: Does Archaeology Prove the Bible?” on Thursday, Jan. 31, at 7 p.m. in the Smetzer Auditorium inside the Gerber Academic Building on the Ashland Theological Seminary campus.

  • ‘Art Saturdays’ to be Held at Ashland University

    1/7/13 ASHLAND, Ohio - Ashland University’s Coburn Gallery and Art Club will again this year be offering “Art Saturdays,” an educational and creative experience for children.

    The classes for “Art Saturdays” will be held on Feb. 2 and April 20 from 10 a.m. to noon in Room 346 located in the Center for the Arts on the Ashland University campus. The March 23 activity will be held from 3 to 4 p.m. prior to Ashland Symphony Young People's Concert.

  • Ashland University Coburn Gallery Sets Art Department Faculty Exhibition

    1/3/13 ASHLAND, Ohio -- Ashland University Coburn Gallery’s art exhibition featuring the works from the Ashland University Art Department Faculty will be held Jan. 17 through Feb. 15, 2013.

    This annual exhibition highlights the two-dimensional and three-dimensional artworks of the current faculty as professional artists exhibiting in their prospective areas. The art department faculty members pursue active studio careers in addition to their teaching endeavors.

  • Ashland University Offices Closed for Christmas Holiday Break

    12/19/12 ASHLAND, Ohio – All offices on the Ashland University campus will be closed from Dec. 20 to Jan. 2 for the Christmas Holiday break. The offices will reopen at 8 a.m. on Jan. 3. Ashland University wishes everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

  • Ashland University Chemistry Professors and Students Find Low Amounts of Lead in Cookware

    12/18/12 ASHLAND, Ohio – Ashland University students in a Quantitative Analysis Chemistry class working with two Ashland University professors have discovered very low amounts of lead in pots that are being distributed throughout Cameroon. While some lead was found in the cookware, the levels in the cookware and leaching from the cookware were not high in comparison to U.S. standards.

  • Professor Emeritus Gives Advice to Ashland University Graduates

    That quote from Albert Einstein was the challenge that Ashland University Professor Emeritus Dr. Donald Rinehart presented to graduates during his commencement address at Ashland University’s Winter Commencement ceremony held on Dec. 15 in the University’s Kates Gymnasium.

     Ashland University has been named as one of the top 15 over-performing colleges in the nation by U.S. News & World Report.

    The publication looked at data from the its Best Colleges 2013, then took peer assessments and compared the information to the actual rankings. Ashland University’s performance is 58 places above its peer assessments, placing it among the top 15 over-performing schools in the country.

  • Adrian Jr. Project Held at Ashland University

    High School students from Ashland, Canton South, Lucas, Madison and New London attended a High School Career Day at Ashland University to raise awareness of the accounting profession and the day featured the hosting of the Internal Revenue Service’s (IRS) Adrian Jr. Project.

    As president of the student accounting chapter at Ashland University, Katelyn Csenar, a senior accounting major, worked with the IRS agents in organizing the event and also participated in the laser simulation exercise as part of the IRS’s Adrian Jr. Project.

  • Ashland University Launches New TESOL Endorsement Program

    12/6/12 ASHLAND, Ohio - Ashland University has launched a new Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) Endorsement program that is being offered this spring throughout the state.

    Ashland University launched the program in response to the growing number of students in Ohio who have limited English proficiency, according to Dr. David Kommer, professor of education and chair of the Curriculum and Instruction Department.
