  • Lady Eagles Win National Championship

    The Ashland University women's basketball team was crowned the Division II national champions Friday night after defeating Dowling 71 to 56 in San Antonio, Texas. The Eagles led the entire game pulling out to double digit leads most of the way. The Eagles, who entered the tournament ranked second in the nation, ended the season with a 37-1 record and got revenge for a loss in the chamionship game last year. The Eagles were led by senior Kari Daugherty who had 26 points and 12 rebounds.

  • Ashland University FCA to Feature Former NFL Player

    3/21/13 ASHLAND, Ohio – Ashland University’s Fellowship of Christian Athletes meeting on April 16 will feature guest speaker Lee Rouson, a former professional football player. The event will take place at 9 p.m. in the lower level of the Jack and Deb Miller Chapel at the corner of King Road and College Avenue on the Ashland University campus.

  • Ashland University Presents Concert Honoring Area Junior High Instrumentalists

    3/19/13 ASHLAND, Ohio - In Celebration of Music in Our Schools Month, Ashland University Department of Music will host the annual Ashland County Junior High School Honors Band on Sunday, March 24, at 4 p.m. in Hugo Young Theatre with the Ashland University Concert Band as the featured guest ensemble. Leonard Salvo, Ashland University director of bands, will conduct both bands.

  • Ashland University Establishes New Interdisciplinary Course in STEM Commercialization

    3/14/13 ASHLAND, Ohio – Three academic programs at Ashland University have come together to develop and offer a new course titled “STEM Commercialization and Entrepreneurship.” The course is being taught this spring.

    The new multi-disciplinary course involving programs in biology, communication studies and entrepreneurship was developed by Dr. Mason Posner, professor of biology; Dr. Theodore Avtgis, professor of communications studies; and Dr. Steve Pool, professor of management.
