    Dr. Heather Prior, an assistant professor from The King’s University College in Edmonton, Alberta, is joining Ashland University’s Department of Biology/Toxicology during her sabbatical as a visiting scholar for the fall 2011 semester.

  • Tickets Available for Homecoming Comedian

    Tickets are still available for the actor and comedian Dean Edwards who will be the Homecoming comedian Friday, Oct. 14, at 8 p.m. in Redwood Hall. This event is sponsored by CAB and Tech Crew.

    Tickets for the comedy event are $15 for general admission, $10 for Ashland University faculty and staff, and $2 for Ashland University students with ID and are available at the Ashland University Box Office at 419.289.5125.

  • Ashland University Professor Selected to Attend Television Academy Seminar

    Oct. 11, 2011/ASHLAND, Ohio – Tim McCarty, interim chair of the Department of Journalism & Digital Media at Ashland University, has been selected as one of 20 individuals nationwide to attend the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Foundation's 2011 Faculty Seminar in Los Angeles Nov. 7-12.

  • Ashland University Holds ‘Meet the Accountant Night’

    A large number of students attended Ashland University’s “Meet the Accountant Night,” which was held Sept. 8 in the Ridenour Executive Education Center of the Dauch College of Business and Economics. This event has been held on campus for the past five years and is sponsored by Becker Professional Education, Institute for Management accountants (IMA) club and the Career Services Center.

  • Ashland University Theatre Professor Has Minor Role in Clooney Film

    Oct. 4, 2011/ASHLAND, Ohio – The George Clooney film, “The Ides of March,” will be appearing in theaters nationwide on Friday, Oct. 7, and Ashland University Assistant Professor of Theatre Fabio Polanco has a role in that film.

    “I play a security guard, sort of the secret service variety,” Polanco said. “I have two lines and my scene is with Marisa Tomei, Ryan Gosling and Max Minghella.”

  • Ashland University Chemistry Professors Develop Method for Measuring Release of Herbicidal Compounds

    A new analytical method for measuring the release of herbicidal compounds from plant roots has been developed by two Ashland University chemistry professors and this method is generating excitement in science labs around the world.

    News of the development has become so widespread, in fact, that Dr. Jeff Weidenhamer, trustees’ distinguished professor of chemistry at Ashland University, spent a week in Berlin, Germany, and six weeks in Australia this summer discussing the new method.

  • U.S. News Ranks Ashland University as One of Top 200 National Universities

    Sept. 26, 2011/ASHLAND, Ohio – The U.S. News & World Report has ranked Ashland University in the top 200 in the National Universities category in its recently released 2012 rankings. This is the first time Ashland University has been listed in the National Universities classification, which is restricted to universities offering doctoral programs and involved in research.

  • Students Spend Summer in Ashland University Science Laboratories

    Twelve Ashland University students have been spending their summer this year conducting scientific research at Ashland University. Most of these students have been working side by side with their professors in the laboratories in Ashland University’s Kettering Science Center. Their research has been utilized to explore the areas of biology, toxicology and biochemistry, among other areas of science.
