  • Ashland University’s Student-Run Newspaper Launches New Website

    Ashland University’s student-run newspaper, The Collegian, launched its new website at the end of September. The website, which has been in the works since mid-summer, can be found at www.ashlandcollegian.com.

    "I'm excited about the website because it lets us provide the same news, sports, entertainment and other stories for our readers but in a new way that's more accessible,” says Managing Editor Melissa Loar. “Some people are more likely to click on a link to a story online than they would be to pick up the actual paper copy."

  • Ashland University Holds ‘Meet the Accountant Night’

    Approximately 50 students attended Ashland University’s “Meet the Accountant Night” that was held on campus in the fall. The event, which featured a number of companies recruiting for internships and full-time employment, was sponsored by Becker Education, Institute for Management Accountants (IMA) and the Career Development Center.

  • Ashland University Business Associate Professor Receives Recognition

    Dr. Sivakumar Venkataramany, associate professor of international business at Ashland University, has been recognized for his 10 years of service as a faculty adviser to the Dauch College of Business and Economics’ chapter of Delta Mu Delta.

    Venkataramany was presented a plaque for his service by the Dauch College of Business and Economics (www.ashland.edu/colleges/college-business-economics) and the Delta Mu Delta International Honor Society in Business Administration.

    A new book written by an Ashland University associate professor of education is being touted as a resource for school districts facing minority teacher recruitment and retention issues.

    Dr. Janet Kearney-Gissendaner, associate professor of Education Administration at Ashland University’s Columbus Center, said she wrote the book, “Minority Teacher Recruitment and Retention Strategies,” to provide an overview of the compelling challenges facing school districts to develop minority teacher recruitment and retention strategies.
