What's Happening at Ashland University

 During the 2012-2013 school year, the Ashbrook Center at Ashland University has been offering a series of webinars intended to help high school students develop a better understanding of the country’s Founding documents and the principles of American constitutional self-government.

These free webinars allow students in high school classrooms to interact with a professor who is an expert in the field. Each webinar is approximately an hour in length, and the Ashbrook Center works with teachers to accommodate class schedules.

2/12/13 ASHLAND, Ohio – What do the Constitution of the United States, Thucydides’ “History of the Peloponnesian War,” the Declaration of the Rights of Man and Citizen, and Adam Smith’s “Wealth of Nations” have in common? They are all likely reading for students majoring in the history and political science degree programs at Ashland University.

2/8/13 ASHLAND, Ohio – Dr. Glenn Reynolds, Beauchamp Brogan distinguished professor of law at the University of Tennessee, will speak at the Ashbrook Center’s Major Issues Lecture Series on March 6 at noon in Myers Convocation Center on the Ashland University campus.

Reynolds will speak on the topic “What Can’t Go On Forever, Won’t: Education and More in the 21st Century.”

Approximately 30 Ashland University students gathered in the Schar College of Education building last week prior to leaving campus for their student teaching semester.

These students are headed for warmer weather and more sunshine in school districts in various parts of South Carolina and Florida as part of Ashland University’s Southern Internship Exchange Program.
