  • Auditor of State to Speak as Part of Ashbrook Series

    ASHLAND, Ohio – Mary Taylor, Ohio’s Auditor of State, will speak at Ashland University on Jan. 26. Taylor will address “Ohio by the Numbers, Ohio by the Heart” as part of the spring 2010 Major Issues Lecture Series presented by the John M. Ashbrook Center for Public Affairs at Ashland University.

  • Chemistry Professor on ABC’s Good Morning America

    Following the Associated Press news release on the testing of inexpensive jewelry items for cadmium content by Dr. Jeff Weidenhamer, Trustees’ Distinguished Professor of Chemistry at Ashland University, Dr. Weidenhamer has conducted numerous media interviews and was interviewed for both ABC’s Good Morning America and CBS’s The Early Show.

  • Associated Press Releases Article on Chemistry Professor's Research

    The Associated Press released an article on Sunday, Jan. 10, on the research being conducted by Dr. Jeff Weidenhamer, Trustees’ Distinguished Professor of Chemistry. This testing of inexpensive jewelry items for cadmium content was carried out for the Associated Press by Dr. Jeff Weidenhamer and two Ashland University toxicology students working under his supervision: Daphne Guinn of Stockport, Ohio, and Janna Pearson of Barberton, Ohio.

  • Ashland University to Hold Faculty Art Exhibition

    Ashland University’s Coburn Gallery will hold a Faculty Art Exhibition Jan. 14 through Feb. 12, 2010.

    An opening reception for the exhibition will be held on Thursday, Jan. 14, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. and a gallery talk back featuring sculpture professor Dan McDonald will be held at 5:15 p.m. during the Jan. 14 opening reception.

    The Art Exhibition will feature Ashland University art department faculty, including George Kocar, Priscilla Roggenkamp, Dan McDonald, Cynthia Petry, Charles Caldemeyer, Jessica Maloney, Keith McMahon, Larry Schiemann and Keith Dull.

  • Ashland University Sets Spectrum Arts and Lecture Series for Spring Semester

    The Spectrum Arts and Lecture Series at Ashland University will hold a series of events for spring semester of 2010.

    Spectrum will open the semester with events titled “When Push Comes to Precious: The Novel, The Film, The Reality,” which deals with the New York Times bestseller “Push” and its adaptation to the big screen as the highly praised film, “Precious,” produced by Oprah Winfrey and Lee Daniels.

    That was the advice of John Telich, WJW Fox 8 News Weekend Sports Anchor, who presented the commencement address at Ashland University’s Winter Commencement ceremony on Saturday (Dec. 12) in the University’s Kates Gymnasium.
