How do I register for a Summer Drive-In?
Log into your application summary at http://www.exploreashland.com/forms.html to complete the rest of your enrollment process. * Registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis.

No, there is not a fee to attend the Summer Drive-In and lunch for you and two guests is complimentary that day.  If you bring additional guests (i.e. sister or brother), there will be a charge for their lunches at the door.

What if I cannot attend a Summer Drive-In Program?
If you are unable to come to a summer Drive In, it will be important to do the following:

Who can come with me to a Summer Drive-In Program?

Typically, one or both parents attend.

When do I register for fall classes?

The Academic Advising Office is in charge of scheduling incoming first year students for their Fall 2008 classes. In order to begin the process of scheduling classes, students must have

Visit https://www.exploreashland.com/apply.php to complete your enrollment forms on-line.

The Academic Advising Office will have schedules completed by June 13, 2008 for all incoming freshmen who have submitted the appropriate materials.

When will I get my AU email address?

Once you have submitted your pre-registration form, housing application, signed up for a Drive-In date, and paid your enrollment deposit your fall semester classes will be scheduled.  After your classes have been scheduled by the Academic Advising office, you will receive a letter with information about your Ashland University e-mail account and directions to access your class schedule on-line.

When do I get my AU Eagle Card ID?

The ID photo is taken during the Summer Drive-in Program. The actual card is given, along with the dorm room key, at check-in during Orientation Weekend in August. Commuters may pick-up their student I. D. in the Eagle Card Office (101 A Founders Hall) two weeks before classes begin.

When can I put funds on my AU Eagle Card Account?

Funds can be added during the Summer Drive-In Program.  You may also add funds at anytime before or during the start of classes. Funds can be added by check, cash, credit card, or by going to the On-Line Card Office http://www.ashland.edu/services/card office/addfunds.html , provided that the Eagle Dollar Application form has been filled out and processed in the Eagle Card Office.

What amount does AU generally recommend students put on their Eagle card?

It varies with the intended uses. If you are buying books at the bookstore, more may be needed. If strictly used for laundry and extras, a smaller amount would be fine. The nice thing is that funds can be added in so many ways and as often as you would like.

When do I request a Residence Hall?

As soon as you are accepted, you will see a variety of forms on http://www.exploreashland.com/forms.html .  One of these forms is your housing contract.  You will indicate your hall preferences on that form.  Anyone not intending to live on campus should complete the Application for Off-Campus Residency (link to http://www.ashland.edu/reslife/documents/offcampusapp.pdf ).

When do I get my Residence Hall room assignment?

All registered students will receive their housing assignment in mid-June, just before the first Summer Drive-in Program.  This will be via e-mail to your Ashland University e-mail account (you will receive your username and password over the summer).  The e-mail will contain your hall and room assignment, phone number, campus mailing address, roommate contact information, etc.  Please watch http://www.ashland.edu/reslife/  for a more specific date as to when to expect the e-mail.

If my friend and I would like to room together, how do we make that request?

On your housing application, you can indicate a roommate request.  If you have a particular person in mind, then you need to request your friend AND your friend needs to request you.  The Office of Residence Life can only accommodate mutual roommate requests.  So if you request your friend but your friend does not request you, then you will not be paired together.  If you cannot edit your housing application and would like to submit a change, please e-mail reslife@ashland.edu or contact your Admission representative.

If everything is acceptable with my Fall class schedule, are the books purchased during the Drive-In or are they only ordered at this time? If ordered only, is payment due in full or at a later date when the order comes in?

Fall textbooks will be available for purchase beginning Monday, August 11, approximately 2 weeks before classes start so no textbooks are available during summer drive-ins. However, students may reserve their textbooks by filling out the textbook reservation form at the Drive-In.  A credit card or Eagle card number is requested at the time of the reservation but the card is not charged until the books are actually pulled and boxed. Reserving textbooks gives those students the first opportunity of receiving used books. Reservations will be pulled and charged the week of August 6, before the textbooks are made available to general students. When the students come to campus, the textbooks will be ready for them to pick up at their convenience. Contact the bookstore with any questions, problems, or schedule changes and we will make it right!
