New Workshop Tuition
All workshops beginning as of September 1, 2007 will be charged
this new rate.
$163.00 per credit hour tuition rate
$ 96.00 per credit hour instructional fee
$259.00 total cost per semester hour
Contact Hour Requirement
The minimum instructional time for each semester hour of graduate workshop
credit is now 12.5 hours. It is expected that workshop participants
will produce a product or project as a result of these instructional hours.
This product or project would be due at the last class session or at a
future date determined by the instructor. Grades are due to our office
1 week after the project due date. With this change, field hours
will not be approved to replace any of the 12.5 hours of instructional
time. Field hours may remain part of your site determined workshop
assignment if that experience is critical to the nature of your instruction.
The syllabus and/or agenda should reflect this project/product as an integral
part of the workshop expectation for participants, and will constitute
an element of participant evaluation for receiving credit and a satisfactory
grade for the workshop. Most of our workshops still have the
15 or more hours of instruction time, as this time is deemed necessary
to adequately present the workshop information. If you have any questions
regarding these changes, I will be happy to discuss them with you.

When You Need Help We Need Help
When you contact our office regarding one of your Ashland workshops,
please have the Workshop Number that was assigned to that class.
All workshop materials are filed in our office by that numbering system
making it essential for us to have that number in order to research the
information you need. The workshop number appears on the contract
you sign, on the student registration form, on the grade sheet, on student
report cards and on transcripts. I suggest you keep a file for your
Ashland workshops and keep a copy of the contract for future reference.
If You Register Your Workshop
Please keep the following procedures in mind:
- Set a date to hold the registration for graduate credit, and
- Forward all registration forms and payments to our office immediately upon registration
- Be certain that the registrations and checks/credit cards are signed
- Include expiration date for credit card
- Staple checks across the bottom left corner of the white copy of the registration form
- If participants register for more than one workshop with you, they should use a separate registration form and check for each workshop in order to have the registrations processed accurately
- Have late registrations sent directly to you so you can approve them and keep the pink copy of the form
- Set a reasonable, final date to receive late registrations so materials do not keep arriving one at a time
- Send those late registrations as a group to our office ASAP
- Late registrations cannot be accepted after the class has ended and grades have been submitted to our office
Scheduling Workshops at the Columbus Center
We have the opportunity to offer workshops here at the Columbus Center.
We feel this is a valuable service to the educators in our area, and are
pleased to be able to offer the classroom space to you for this purpose.
To schedule a workshop at our Center: You must to submit your syllabus
and agenda with the workshop request form in
order to be placed on our calendar for the next semester. Classroom
space is limited and in order to be fair to everyone, we will not be able
to schedule a workshop until we have the appropriate paperwork in our office.
To be included in the published schedule that is mailed to workshop participants
for Spring Semester 2003 (workshops held between January and May) Please
have the proposal to us by November 15, 2002. For summer 2003, we
need proposals by March 1, 2003. The online schedule is updated as

Telego Center for Educational Improvement
Ashland University's Center for Educational Improvement has been renamed
the Telego
Center for Educational Improvement. At a surprise retirement party
on May 4, 2001, Dr.
Gene Telego was recognized by President Dr. G. William Benz for his
34 years of service
to Ashland University by bestowing upon him this honor.
A 1962 Ashland College bachelor
of arts degree graduate, Dr. Gene Telego retired this past June. Under
Dr. Telego's
leadership, Ashland moved progressively from approval of basic education
programs to
NCATE's full accreditation of both the basic and advanced programs.
Some of the
University's accomplishments under Dr. Telego include establishment
of major
off-campus centers in Columbus, Massillon, and Elyria; authorization
of the M.Ed.
degree; and most recently approval by the Ohio Board of Regents to
grant the Doctor of
Education (Ed.D.) degree.
The Telego Center provides technical skills and expertise to schools in meeting requirements of state and federal mandates, solidifying community support, and educating students to meet the challenges of the 21st century. TCEI utilizes the expertise and resources of Ashland University to address school districts challenges of leadership and management, educational effectiveness and school improvement, and educational policy.
