Requirements for State Licensing

The first step for obtaining a real estate sales license is to complete the four required courses with Ashland University. These courses total 120 classroom hours.

4 CEU's
2 Sem. Hours

Real Estate Appraisal (20 hours) *RECE 251/Business 251
2 CEU's
2 Sem. Hours

Real Estate Finance (20 hours) *RECE 252/Business 252
2 CEU's
2 Sem. Hours

Real Estate Law (40 hours)*RECE 253/Business 253
4 CEU's
2 Sem. Hours

Upon completion and obtaining a passing score for the four required courses, the student may elect to do further study by taking the "test crammer" session. This extra class is designed to show the type and structure of questions to expect on the exam and to be sure that the student is ready to take the real estate exam. The goal for the instructors of this course will be to help you to pass the exam on your first attempt.

The second requirement for students prior to taking the state exam will be to affiliate with a real estate company. This company will help you to complete paperwork so that your real estate license will be issued immediately upon passing the state exam.

The third step will be the completion of the exam. The student must make arrangements with the Division of Real Estate for exam scheduling.
