Our hospitality management major encompasses everything from the travel and hotel industry to conferences and private events for charities, companies and families.

What You’ll Love About the Hospitality Management Major:

This solidly hands-on program includes plenty of fun and exciting fieldwork.
You’ll experience as close to on-the-job management training as you can get while also earning your all-important undergraduate degree.
You’ll study everything from customer service and contract negotiations to project, staff and event management.
And, since college students are always hungry, we’ll add that sometimes you can eat your class project. What’s hospitality without food anyway?

Our faculty members take time to nurture each of our program majors through both advising and mentoring. We bring a wide background of hotel management and other hospitality fields into the classroom. We even boast a chef on our team, who can teach you all about the food-side of the business.

Gain Real World Experience
With more than 200 hours of fieldwork required in a variety of venues, you’ll see close-up what really goes on behind the scenes. Our students often complete summer internships at locations across the country. Interesting Classes You May Take

Environmental Management — Examine operations of housekeeping and engineering departments within food service facilities, with emphasis on record keeping, baseline technical knowledge about electric, heating and plumbing systems.
Institutional Law — Learn all about the legal responsibilities for institutional management and ownership.
Hospitality Marketing — Complete hands-on work for an actual marketing and communication plan that takes into account the factors you can and cannot control for a food and lodging business.
