Career Outlook for Physics Majors

The federal government and scientific research and development companies employ more than half of physicists. Those with bachelor’s degrees qualify for research assistant and technician jobs. Master’s degree holders can qualify for positions in applied research and development. However, most researcher positions require a doctoral degree. Employment opportunities are expected to grow at seven percent through 2016.
