Internships in churches and other ministries are often available. In addition, students get the opportunity to study abroad through global education opportunities such as:
- The Legacy of Paul and Peter in Italy, which combined the literary analysis of early Christian and medieval texts with a 10-day study abroad experience in Italy centered on Florence, Assisi and Rome.
- Footsteps of the Apostle Paul — Students explored the social and cultural world of early Christianity by following the travels of the apostle Paul throughout Greece.

- Global Christianity, Culture and Mission—Study the relationship between gospel and culture, the history of worldwide Christian mission and characteristics of the contemporary Christian church in various global contexts.
- Taking Human Life — Examine issues such as euthanasia, abortion, capital punishment, suicide and warfare from a variety of perspectives within the Judeo-Christian tradition.
- History of Religions in America — Explore the history of religions in America from the mid-16th century to the present by studying not only the social contexts within which American religions developed but also the diversity of American religious thought during the period.
