- Ashland University Theatre actively participates in the USITT Annual Conference and the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival . Ashland University productions and students have been recognized for outstanding work in our five-state region.
- Ashland University’s Theatre program has a track record of success. Our graduates have gone on to successful careers in film, television and on the stage working in Chicago, Los Angeles and New York as well as in regional theatres around the country. Two of these include Dwier Brown, who starred in Field of Dreams, Red Dragon, Gettysburg and The Thorn Birds miniseries; and Amy Stock Poynton, who has acted in many TV serials including Dallas and Matlock and movies such as Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure, Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey, Beanstalk and The Little Death.
- Each year Ashland University puts on a full season of productions, which recently have included presentations such as The Crucible, Crimes of the Heart, The Spitfire Grill, The Shape of Things, The Secret Garden and Expecting Isabel among others.

- Basic Acting Technique – Study the actor’s craft with strong emphasis on physicalization.
- Costume Design – Examine the functions of stage costumes, emphasis on beginning level design and construction skills as well as the types of costumes needed for various production styles.
- Voice and Articulation – Explore correct sound production focusing on the precise shaping of the vocal sound.
