The Recreation and Arthur L. and Maxine Sheets Rybolt Sport Sciences Center opened on March 13, 2006. 

Over 6000 visits were recorded in the first seven days.  The facility was built at a cost of approximately $18 million dollars. 

The sport sciences complex is named for Arthur L. and Maxine Sheets Rybolt in honor of their gracious generosity.

The RSSC has one multi-purpose and two basketball courts, climbing and boulder walls, a golf simulator, two racquetball courts, an aerobics room, a 5,000 square foot fitness center and weight room, a game room and equipment check out area, sauna, whirlpool and a juice bar. The second level offers a 3-lane jogging track that overlooks the gymnasium area.

The sport sciences complex houses faculty offices, classrooms and an exercise physiology lab. 

The athletic training facility is located in the lower level of the RSSC and offers a state of the art hydro therapy pool for rehabilitation. 

The Center with a 25m pool and diving well is also home to the intercollegiate women's and men's swim teams.
