Q- What services encompass the department?

A- Intramurals, Special Events, Sport Clubs, Recreation Center, Outdoor Pursuits, Group Fitness, Outdoor Sand Volleyball, Outdoor Basketball, 2 Residence Hall fitness centers, Informal Recreation and on-campus jobs.

Q-What intramurals are available?

A- There are 20 intramural events, including: Tennis, Flag Football, Kickball, Bowling, Golf, Indoor Soccer, Volleyball, Sand Volleyball, Billiards, Table Tennis, Basketball, Racquetball, Floor Hockey, Badminton, Softball, Water Polo, 3 Point/Slam Dunk, and Outdoor Soccer. Programming Web Site

Q - What special events are available?

A - There are 12 special events, including: Orientation 3on3 Basketball Tournament, Texas Hold'em Card Party, Whiffleball 4on4 Tournament, Late Night Volleyball Mania, March Mayhem, Euchre Tournament, Indoor 4on4 Touch Football, Springfest Weekend 4on4 Sand Volleyball, Midnight Dodgeball Tournament, and cornhole. Q - What sport clubs are available?

A - There are 14 club sports, including: Women's Volleyball, Women's Fast Pitch Softball Club, Women's Basketball, Women's Soccer, Power Lifting, Women's Field Hockey, Men's Rugby, Women's Rugby, Men's Basketball, Fencing, Table Tennis, Ski Club, Ultimate Frisbee, Men's Soccer, Co-Ed Tennis, and Men's Lacrosse. Q - When did the new Recreation & Sports Science Center open and what are the hours?

A - The facility opened on March 13, 2006. Hours during the academic year are: 6am-11pm M-Fri; 9am-11pm Sat.; 12pm-11pm Sun.

Q - What trips are provided for outdoor pursuits?

A - Whitewater Rafting, Horseback Riding, Kayaking, Paintball, More TBA

Q - What group fitness classes are offered?

A - Cardio-Dance, Cardio-Kickboxing, Step Aerobics, Pilates, Tai-Chi, Abs, Water Aerobics, Spinning, Hip-Hop Dance, Step/Sculpt, Yoga, High/Low, Yogalates, and High Intensity Cardio are offered.  All classes are student led. Group Fitness Web site

Q - What is available in the Rec Center Game Room?

A - Three billiards tables, table tennis and two flat screen tv's are found in this area.

Q - What does the new Recreation and Sport Science center offer?

A - Two gymnasium courts, a multi-purpose court, boulder and climbing walls, lap pool with diving well, whirlpool, intercollegiate men's and women's swim team staff offices, sauna, game room and lounge area, fitness center and weight room, athletic training room and staff offices, locker rooms, two racquetball courts, aerobics room, juice bar, recreational service offices, DVD rental is here now, sport sciences faculty offices and classrooms, and a 3 lane jogging track.


Q - Are there any jobs available working for the Department of Recreational Services?

A - Recreational Services is one of the largest student employers on campus. Within the new Recreation Center, students are hired as facility managers, fitness center supervisor, circulation desk supervisor, lifeguards, intramural scorekeepers, intramural officials and climbing wall instructors.
