Catalog Usage:

So.... now that I have this catalog, how do I use it?

BASIC Framework

Front of the Catalog
1. The front of the catalog has all the information you will need with respect to institutional policies and procedures.

2. Under the section of Academic Affairs you will find the "Institutional Baccalaureate Degree Requirements."  These requirements are also known as Core Requirements (CORE). They must be completed along with your major and minor requirements for graduation.

Second Half of the Catalog
1. Each department has its own section listed in alphabetical order.

  • The first part of each departmental section contains the degree requirements for the majors and/or minors.
  • The second part of each departmental section contains descriptions of all the courses in the department.
WHAT TO DO WITH IT

Your catalog is going to be very useful to you during your time here at Ashland University.

For example, did you know that:

  • You must have 128 credit hours to graduate? That breaks down to 16 hours per semester.
  • You must apply for graduation by a certain date?
  • You must keep at least a 2.0 GPA or you are placed on academic probation?
If you didn't know these things, you could find them in your catalog. These are just a few reasons why it is important to be familiar with your catalog.
