Is there a web page for commuter students?

Plugged In is located at http://www.ashland.edu/stuaff/PluggedIn/main.html . This site is the location for commuter students to learn more about the resources, programs, and services for those that commute. Individuals can find answers to Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs), ask other questions, make suggestions, and more.

If I have a question, but do not know whom to ask, is there someplace I can go?

You may stop in the Student Activities Office located on the second floor the Hawkins-Conard Student Center or email jwashock@ashland.edu with your question.

"I am a commuter student. Will my card give me access to the residence halls?

No. There are several reasons for this, namely safety and security, policy enforcement, and services that residential students are paying for. We certainly welcome our commuter students to visit the residence halls and be a part of that environment. You just need to call your friend and arrange a visit."

How do I meet people?

Get involved in a student organization, participate in intramurals, study with classmates, attend programs hosted on campus or hanging out in the student center are several ways to meet people on campus. You are welcome to stop in the Office of Student Activities to learn more about the opportunities available to students.

Where can commuters park on campus?

Parking for commuter students is available in the Samaritan, Maintenance, Field House, and Claremont parking lots.  Like the resident students, commuters must first purchase a permit to be able to park on campus in these lots.  Commuters will have the opportunity to choose which lot they wish to park in providing spaces are available.  Near the end of spring semester, returning students will be given the opportunity to reserve their parking permit for the next year.  The schedule for reserving permits for the next year will be posted in the student center and the Collegian.  An e-mail will also be sent to all registered students.
