What You Can Do...
The cooperation and involvement of the entire campus community is absolutely necessary, as we all must assume some responsibility for our personal safety and the security of personal property. While Safety Services Officers are on duty 24 hours a day, they can't be everywhere at once. We rely on your help to report crimes or suspicious activity and to take some simple, common sense precautions, such as:
Most crimes on a college campus are committed by members of the campus community. While a vast majority of your friends and neighbors share your commitment to having a safe and secure community and the crime rate at Ashland University is low, please don't become complacent and think that we are not vulnerable to crime. Remember that it can happen anywhere. Oftentimes crimes, especially theft, are crimes of opportunity.
Should you recognize that a friend has a problem with alcohol or some other type of disruptive behavior, notify a counselor, clergy, your Resident Assistant, Safety Services, the Student Health Center, or anybody on campus you feel may be able to help your friend get the assistance he or she may need.
