Evening of Celebration
Evening of Celebration is the culminating event for Black History Month. A soul food dinner is prepared by our award winning dining services while guests are entertained and inspired by students participating in the Black Student Union Production, as well as a guest artist/speaker.
Haunted House Trip
The annual Haunted House Trip sponsored by the Office for Minority Student Services and the Black Student Union has become an October tradition at Ashland University. Students select a house each year for those who are brave enough to attend.
Martin Luther King, Jr. Convocation
An annual celebration and memorial of the efforts, spirit and wisdom of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Ashland University holds a convocation for the entire campus community. Our One Church worship experience joins a dynamic speaker as well as students to reinvigorate the dream of Dr. King. In addition, students and staff also participate in a service project co-sponsored with the Center for Community Service.
The Production is a night of music, song and poetry during Black History Month. We pay homage to the artists that have influenced African-American culture to date. The Production is written, produced and performed by Ashland University students and always proves to be an impactful event which leaves the audience in awe.
