GLOBAL STUDIES TRACK
Border Crossings Courses
1. understand the particular political, scientific, socio-economic, historical, cultural, or linguistic:
- features of a country or region outside of the United States,
- relationships between the United States and another country or region of the world, or
- issues that transcend a particular country or region of the world;
2. have knowledge and some understanding of at least one culture other than their own;
3. compare and assess sources of information about global issues; and
4. see others as others see themselves, give the conditions and values of others.
In addition to a Border Crossings course, students in the Global Studies Track must satisfy one of the following three options:
1. Take language courses in a language not previously studied(6 hours)
OR
2. Fulfill the Global Studies Experience:
- Take one course with Study Away & GPS narrative (3 hours) OR
- Take one course with Experience and GPS Narrative (3 hours) OR
- Take two additional Border Crossings courses (6 hours) OR
3. Take a value-added language course (3 hours)
