Eligibility for Undergraduate Teaching Abroad
- At least a 3.0 cumulative GPA.
- At least a 3.0 GPA in professional education.
- No judicial record of violations of student regulations Levels 1-2.
- Agreement and Release of Liability.
- Program Team/Major Department Recommendation.
- Submission of COST Program application.
- Interview with the College of Education STA Selection Committee.
- Approval by the College of Education STA Selection Committee.
- Approval by the COST Program Director
Eligibility for Bachelor's Plus Teaching Abroad
- Admission to the Bachelor's Plus Program without conditions
- Completion of 12 semester hours of Ashland University credits at the time of application to the Study Abroad Program
- Completion of courses at Ashland University during the previous two semesters prior to the application to the Study Abroad Program
- Receive a cumulative GPA of 3.0 in his/her teaching licensure program
- Be in good standing with Ashland University and the Bachelor's Plus Program
- Have letters of good standing from the Center Program Director and the University System Director of the Bachelor's Plus Program
- Completion and submission the Application to Study Abroad, available from the Program Center Director.
After these requirements have been met, the student who would like to do student teaching abroad must:
- have completed/met all prerequisites for student teaching.
- have sent a letter to the Director of Field Experience requesting student teaching abroad, complete and submit the Student Teaching Application Form.
- make an appointment with the Director of Field Experience to discuss options available to Student Teach Abroad.
After all of the above requirements have been met, the student will be contacted by the Director of Study Abroad regarding final approval and fees.
