Ashland University's student dining operation continues its record of excellence as one of the top dining programs recognized by The National Association of College and University Food Service. The operation won first place for the Student Dining Award for Standard Menu in 1989 through 1993 and 2000 through 2002; and took second place in 2005 through 2008. The operation also took first place in 2004 for Student Dining Special Event.

Located in lower Convocation Center, the Dining Service offers Saturday breakfast from 7:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., weekend brunch from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and weekend dinner from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Continuous service is available Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m to 7:00 p.m.

Meal Plans

Option I
Unlimited - Students may come and go to the dining hall as they please and as many times as they want. Whether you love to eat or would like to eat multiple smaller meals this is the perfect plan for you.
$2,165/semester

Option II
240 Block Plan - This plan gives the student 240 meals to spread throughout the semester. Meal equivalency can be used at the Eagles' Nest, Tuffy's Smoothie Bar, Schar Cafe and Catering. Swipes can be used for guests.
$2,165/semester

Option III
160 Block Plan - Students receive160 meals to be used throughout the semester. Meals can be utilized at the Eagles' Nest, Tuffy's Smoothie Bar, Schar Cafe and Catering for equivalency. Guest swipes NOT permitted. $2115/semester

Option IV
Commuter/Senior Apt. Block Flex Plan - Students receive 80 meals to be used in the dining hall or used for equivalency at the Eagles' Nest, Tuffy's Smooth Bar, Scar Cafe and Catering. Guest swipes are permitted.
$1,082/semester

What is Equivalency? - Students on a meal plan can use a meal swipe to eat at any one of our retail locations for a value of $6.50 per transaction. Locations include Eagles' Nest, Tuffy's Smoothie Bar, Schar Cafe and Catering.

Eagle Dollars - Eagle dollars can still be loaded on to your card at the Business Office, Bookstore, Eagle Card Office or online.

What is Schar Cafe? - The Schar Cafe is a convenient Grab-n-Go facility located on the first floor of the Dwight Schar College of Education building. Students may use an equivalency swipe for a sandwich or salad, two sides and a beverage. Come check it out if most of your classes are on the far side of campus.

Meal Plan Changes - Changes to your meal plan cannot occur once the academic semester has started.  If you need to add or drop a meal plan please contact Marty Penwell.

All meals are non-transferable.
