Where is the Counseling Center located?
The Counseling Center is located in the Student Affairs office on the second floor of the Hawkins-Conard Student Center right across from the elevators.

What does counseling cost?
Counseling is a free service provided to all fulltime undergraduate currently enrolled at Ashland University.
How can I make an appointment?
You can schedule an appointment in person by coming to the office or you can call 1-419-289-5307 to schedule an appointment.
What are the Counseling Center’s hours?
The Counseling Center is open Monday-Friday throughout the academic school year. We are open from 8:00am-5:00pm and close down at noon for lunch. If you are in need of services when the Counseling Center is not open please call Ashland University’s Safety Services at 1-419-289-5555 or dial 911 if it is an emergency.
What will happen during my first session?
Usually an initial intake is scheduled that lasts about 50 minutes. You will complete an intake form before your appointment in order to provide the counselor with information about your concerns. During this intake session your counselor can answer any questions about Ashland University’s services as well as provide information about our policy on confidentiality. The counselor will ask questions about your reasons for seeking counseling, the circumstances involved in your concerns, and your previous experiences.
What is the policy on confidentiality?
All information shared in a counseling session is held confidential between the counselor and the client, except in cases where there is imminent danger to self or others. A release of information can be signed at any time by the client to allow contact with parents, staff, previous counselors, etc. if approved by the client.
