The Office of Field and Internship Experiences

Connecting education students with tasks & experiences in the classroom.

Whether you are visiting as a teacher education candidate, administrator, mentor teacher, or university instructor or supervisor, we hope that you will easily locate all of the information that you will need for successful participation in a field or internship experience.
Mission Statement
Developed by the Field Experience Advisory Board, the mission of the Office of Field and Internship Experiences is to provide systematic and reality-based contacts between teacher education students and the tasks and experiences involved in PreK-12 classrooms for the purpose of:
  • Creating awareness of differences in teaching at various levels and with diverse populations.

  • Finding ways to apply the theories, research, and methods learned in professional education courses.

  • Undergoing the test of actual experience in the field of study while developing teaching practices that individual interns can use when they have their own classrooms.

  • Screening out individuals who are not capable of performing successfully in a classroom.

Field and Internship Information
