Curriculum & Instruction Endorsements

Candidates might consider extending their license by earning one of two endorsements:

The Early Childhood Endorsement allows candidates who are seeking or hold the Early Childhood PreK-3 License to teach in self-contained grades 4 and 5. Coursework will add to candidate subject area background, knowledge of young adolescent developmental characteristics and skills to teach older children.

In addition candidates will need to take an additional Praxis test.

Early Childhood Endorsement Check Sheet

The Middle Childhood Endorsement allows candidates who are seeking or hold the Middle Childhood Education 4-9 License to add the two other subject areas to their license for grade 4-6 only. This allows MCE candidates to teach in self-contained classrooms to grade 6.

Coursework includes specified classes in the non-license areas and an additional Praxis test.
