Journalism and Digital Media at Ashland University is a unique, converged, state-of-art department offering hands-on experience creating print, video, audio and web content using the latest digital media creation tools.

What You’ll Love About Journalism & Digital Media:

• You’ll work with award-winning faculty with over fifty years combined professional media experience in print and broadcast.
• Your involvement in all areas of digital media production starts your freshman year!
• You’ll develop content for our award-winning student media outlets:
  • The Collegian, Ashland’s student newspaper
  • TV, Ashland’s television outlet broadcasts locally over Armstrong Cable
  • WRDL 88.9 FM The Eagle, Ashland’s student-powered radio station
• You'll work with the latest digital media hardware tools, like JVC HD cameras and software tools like Final Cut Pro, Avid's Media Composer, and Adobe's InDesign and Photoshop.
• You'll do an internship - several probably - at media outlets like CNN, MTV, Sports Time Ohio, The Columbus Dispatch and many other media outlets.
• You’ll build a converged e-portfolio of your work to help you find a job after graduation.
• You’ll explore the role and effects of media, media and the law and the influence of new media tools like social media.
