Q. What are the hours of operation for the Recreation Center?
A. During the school year, the Rec Center is open Monday-Friday from 7:00am-10:30pm, Saturdays from 12:00pm-10:30pm, and Sundays from 1:00pm-10:30pm. During breaks and summer, the Rec Center is open Monday-Saturday from 9:00am-9:00pm and Sundays from 12:00pm-9:00pm. Pool hours may be different than the rest of the facility.
Q. What do I need to bring with me to the Rec Center?
A. To gain entrance to the Rec Center, each patron will need to bring their Ashland University Eagle Card (this serves as your membership card). All other equipment that you may use during your workout can be checked out at Equipment Check-Out - such as walkmans, towels, basketballs, etc.
Q. Can I bring a non-member to the Rec Center with me?
A. Yes! All members are able to bring in up to three members with them at a time; at $5.00/each. During the school year, all full-time undergraduate students are able to bring in 2 guests for free, Friday after 3pm, Saturday and Sunday.
Q. Who is eligible for membership?
A. Memberships are available to all full-time undergraduates, part-time students, ACCESS students, seminary students, graduate students, alumni, faculty, staff, members of the Board of Trustees, retired faculty and staff belonging to the Ashland University Heritage Club and adjunct professors of 10 or more years. Family memberships are available to all above mentioned groups with the exception of alumni. Alumni have specific hours that they are allowed to utilize memberships.
Q. What is acceptable work-out gear?
A. Acceptable clothing to work-out in are t-shirts and athletic shorts. Men and women are allowed to wear cut-off shirts as long as the front and back of the shirt covers the individual.
Q. Can I reserve the Basketball court or MAC court?
A. No, the basketball and MAC Courts are on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Q. How many laps does it take to run a mile on the upstairs track?
A. It takes a total of nine laps to run one mile.
Q. How do I join a sport club?
A. Easy, simply contact the sport club president that you are interested in joining and they will guide you through the process and educate you about practice times. You can find the club presidents contact information at the Rec Center as well as on the Sport Club web page.
