Lifeguard Training Prerequisite (LGP)
Successful completion of this class is mandatory before participants may register for the new Lifeguard Training course listed below. Participants must swim 300 yards continuously, consisting of 100 yard freestyle, 100 yard breaststroke, and 100 yard mixed freestyle and breaststroke. Additionally, they must retrieve a 10-pound brick from 10 feet of water, swim the brick 20 yards back to the side of the pool, and get out of the water without using the ladder or stairs. This must be completed in 1 minute 40 seconds.
Prerequisite: Must be 15 years of age by the completion of the new Lifeguard Training course.
Length of Class: 1 hour (will take place during the start of class on the first day)
Lifeguard Training - New (LGT)
This course teaches the skills necessary to guard at an aquatic facility. Successful participants will receive CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, Lifeguard and First Aid Training certifications. Absence from any of the classes will result in a failure of the course and forfeiture of the registration fee. Instructors are not permitted to make up missed material with participants. New Lifeguard Training books and pocket masks are provided to class participants upon registration.

Lifeguard Re-certification Course
Successful completion of this course will renew lifeguard training, CPR/AED and First Aid certifications. This class will update participants on the new American Red Cross 2012 lifeguard CPR/AED guidelines. Participants should be prepared to take a written and water skill test.
Prerequisite: Proof of current CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, Lifeguard Training and First Aid certifications.

All registered participants must bring the Participants Manual with them on the day of class. Materials will be sent to each of you attached as a PDF in an email once you have registered. The manual will also be available the day of class for purchase. Participant must bring money that day or they will not be able to attend class.
