The Ashland University Department of Recreational Services offers a wide range of recreational sports and leisure activities to the Ashland University Community. Whether you have played sports before, are just looking to try something new, or simply want to meet new people, there is a little something for everyone no matter what your skill level. Participants may take part in three areas of recreational programming; Intramural (IM) Sports, and Sport Clubs.
IM Sports is available to all Ashland University students, faculty, and staff members. Annually, the IM Sports program involves over 2,750 participants, and offers a comprehensive recreational sport schedule of 23 different sport leagues and tournaments. These include traditional sports, such as basketball, flag football, soccer, volleyball, hockey, and softball as well as offering kickball, ultimate frisbee, racquetball, and many more.
Other than traditional competitions, IM Sports also provides unique programming opportunities like the Fall Softball Classic and March Mayhem, along with leisure activities like the Sib-N-Kids Cornhole Tournament.
In addition to IM Sports, Sport Clubs provide competitive and non-competitive sporting opportunities on and off the Ashland University main campus. With a total of 19 Sport Clubs and rising, these student-run organizations are a great way to get involved with other Ashland University students with similar interests within recreational and competitive sports. Any new Sport Club may be started by a current Ashland University student and is open to all Ashland University students, faculty, and staff members. Join today!
