The mission of the Ashland University Intramural Sports program is to provide a variety of organized recreational sports and activities in a safe environment to the Ashland University Community. It is the goal of the program to promote and provide participants the opportunity for physical fitness, to build social networks, practice good sportsmanship, and enjoy their time outside the classroom.
The IM Sports & Special Events program is available to all full-time undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and staff members. A multitude of sport and leisure activity opportunities all offered for the Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters. All IM Sports are free as well as incorporates Sportsmanship Ratings to ensure an enjoyable playing atmosphere.

looking to get involved with IM sports?
Getting involved is easy. Info Sheets for registration are located at the Rec Center Customer Service Desk. Be sure to fully complete the registration portion on the back side of the Info Sheet and submit it to Customer Service by the specified registration deadline. Check out the current semester's IM Sports schedule.
In addition to playing IM Sports, there are a number of ways to get involved with IM Sports. Organize your friends and teammates by becoming a Team Captain, or become a part of the IM Sports student staff. The IM Sports program employs over 15 sports officials each year, as well as offers multiple voluntary field experiences, the ACIS Marketing Internship, and two Summer Intern positions. In addition, an employee may work their way up to a leadership position and become an IM Supervisor.

The IM Sports program is always looking to stay current with participant interests and trends. So, if there is an IM Sport not being offered, contact the Assistant Director of Programs to submit possible suggestions for future programming.
The Ashland University IM Sports program utilizes IMLEAGUES.COM for online league or tournament schedules and standings. The link to IMLEAGUES.COM can be found to right, in our side content bar. IMLEAGUES is an online, intramural sports social network where participants have the opportunity to create player profiles, join other Ashland University IM Sports teams, communicate with team members, view current and previous IM Sports Champions, and much more!
All-Sports Champions
Each year, teams compete in a yearlong competition compiling points towards the All-Sports Championship. The All-Sports Championship consists of teams receiving points for participating in multiple individual and team sports and special events, placing first or second place in league and tournament play, and maintaining high Sportsmanship Ratings. The winner gets the All-Sports Championship Trophy for one year along with specially made championship t-shirts. So, gather up your friends and enter to compete all-year-round. Free Agents
Participants looking to join a team, or teams looking for players...look no further. The Ashland University IM Sports program offers a Free Agent option for participants and teams.
Participants not on a team may contact the Recreational Services Department and sign-up as a Free Agent. Although not a guarantee, signing up as a Free Agent will give teams looking for players an opportunity to contact interested participants to fill their roster.
Teams looking for players, or teams wishing to meet new people and fill their roster at the same time, make sure to check "Yes" on your Info Sheet that you are looking for Free Agents. Free Agents can then be assigned to teams open to completing their roster.
