Foreign Studies Minor

A Foreign Studies Minor allows students to increase their awareness of other cultures, motivate them toward mastering a foreign language, and encourage studying abroad to enhance their education. Through this minor, the study abroad experience would be supported academically before and after their sojourn creating a context for the new information learned abroad. Students can supplement and continue to cultivate, at Ashland University, what was learned during their study abroad experience. The minor is aimed at students who have an interest in foreign languages and studying abroad. Selection of the study abroad site (and thus language environment) should occur in the advising process with consideration of the student's major and/or potential use of the minor following graduation.
