Web Advisor Requirements

How to determine if your browser has 128-Bit Encryption:

If you have Internet Explorer:

Internet Explorer 4 and up

  1. Click Help in the I.E. Menu

  2. Click About Internet Explorer

  3. In the section marked Cipher strength it will say 128-bit if you have the 128-bit secure browser.

Internet Explorer 3 and below

  1. Unfortunately, these browsers offer no easy way to determine if you have 128-bit encryption. If you have these browsers, we encourage you to download and register the most current version of this software.

If you have Netscape:

Netscape Navigator for Windows

  1. Click Help in the Netscape Menu

  2. Click About Netscape

  3. In the section marked RSA Encryption, a sentence in bold describes either US or International security. The US refers to 128-bit and International to 40-bit encryption.

Netscape Navigator for MAC

  1. Click Apple icon

  2. Click About Netscape

  3. In the section marked RSA Encryption, a sentence in bold describes either US or International security. The US refers to 128-bit and International to 40-bit encryption.

Please Note: Due to a problem with older Netscape browsers, Netscape had issued an alert to all Netscape users to upgrade their browsers to their latest version.


How to upgrade your browser to 128-Bit Encryption:

If you found that your current browser does not support 128-bit encryption, the good news is that Microsoft, Netscape and AOL offer free upgrades.

Internet Explorer:

You can either purchase the browser on CD-ROM from Microsoft by calling (800) 485-2048, or you can download a free browser from the Microsoft Web site.

If you have trouble downloading, please contact Microsoft Customer Service by calling (425) 635-7123.

Netscape:

You can either purchase the browser on CD-ROM from Netscape by calling (650) 937-3777, or you can download a free browser from the Netscape Web site.

If you have trouble downloading, please contact Netscape Customer Service by calling (800) 411-0707.

AOL:

You can obtain the particular browser you would like to use by entering the Keyword: 128browser. Follow the instructions for downloading and installing your new 128-bit browser.

If you have trouble downloading, please contact America Online Customer Service by calling (888) 265-8006.
