Ashland University graduate touring the country as music director for Broadway shows

When Eddie Carney went to the first rehearsal for his first Broadway national tour, the Ashland University graduate wasn’t intimidated for very long.

“I quickly realized how prepared I was for the process,” he said. “One of the biggest benefits I got at AU were the many performance opportunities it provides its students.

“I would not be the music director I am today without my time at AU,” he added.

Maplerock Jazz Festival to take place Friday, March 22

ASHLAND, Ohio – The 43rd edition of the Maplerock Jazz Festival, an educational and entertaining event that features the Ashland University Jazz Orchestra (AUJO) mixing with internationally-recognized jazz artists as well as regional scholastic groups, will be Friday, March 22. The festival will be held inside AU’s Center for the Arts (331 College Ave.), with the concert portion at Hugo Young Theatre starting at 7:30 p.m.

ASHLAND, Ohio – Ashland University’s annual Winter Choral Concert, featuring the AU Chamber Singers, the Ashland Area Chorus and the AU Choir, will take place Sunday, Feb. 25, at 4 p.m. The concert, free and open to the public, will be held at Jack and Deb Miller Chapel.

ASHLAND, Ohio - The Ashland Area Chorus, a community-based mixed choir, announces its spring 2024 season. Rehearsals are Monday nights from 7-8:30 p.m. at Ashland University in the Center for the Arts, room 242, starting this Monday, Jan. 8. Winter Festival Band Concert set for Friday, Dec. 8

ASHLAND, Ohio – The Ashland University Symphonic Band and Ashland Area Community Concert Band are teaming up for their annual Winter Festival Band Concert, which will take place Friday, Dec. 8, at 7:30 p.m., at Hugo Young Theatre in the Center for the Arts.
