Megan Connor, Director

Megan ConnorMegan Connor is the Director of the AMuLit Center. She has been involved with writing centers since 2006 and has worked with them in almost every capacity - as a client, as a writing assistant, as an assistant director, as a director establishing a new center, and now as a director at an established university writing center. She received her Masters in Rhetoric and Composition from Kent State University and is currently working on her doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction at Kent State University. Her research interests include the teaching of writing, writing centers, peer review, new literacies, and critical social justice education.

Tiffany Sanders, Administrative Assistant

Photo Unavailable Tiffany Sanders is the administrative assistant in the AMuLit Center. Tiffany grew up in New Jersey, and earned her bachelor’s degree in family studies from Abilene Christian University, Abilene, Texas. While there, she served for three years on the Editorial Board for the university newspaper. Tiffany has extensive administrative experience in both professional and volunteer capacities, including team management and event planning. She lives in Ashland with her husband, their two children, and their labradoodle. She is active in her church and in the local schools.

The AMuLit Center Communication Coaches

The AMuLit Center is staffed by undergraduate students from across the universtiy working as coaches. These coaches are trained to provide one-on-one support for students who visit the AMuLit with assignments or projects from any class. Meet our coaches here:

Alex Burnham

I am from Wadsworth, Ohio. I am majoring in Sport Communication and minoring in Sport Management. I enjoy watching sports, hanging out with friends, and playing video games. I also enjoy making people laugh and having a good time.

Alex DeBord

My name is Alex DeBord and I am a sophomore from Sparta, Ohio. I am majoring in Nursing with a minor in psychology. I hope to attain my BSN and become a registered nurse, then a nurse-midwife. I am also a member of the Honors College. I like to spend my free time running, working out and hanging out with family and friends.

Ellie Jensen

I am a junior Integrated Language Arts major from Midland, Michigan. I played volleyball for 10 years and I absolutely love music. Harry Styles is my favorite. I am a huge dog person and I have a goldendoodle named Winnie!

Ellissa Chambliss

I'm from Medina, OH. I'm a junior, planning to graduate in December 2020. I'm majoring in English with minors in creative writing and Spanish. I love all things Disney! My dogs are even named Lilo, Stitch, and Nani. In my free time I like to watch Netflix and read, especially short stories.

Emily Beaver

Hello, my name is Emily Beaver. I am a Senior at AU. I am working towards a double major in Creative Writing and English with minor in History. I am from Bryan, Ohio, home of the Etch-a-Sketch and Dum Dum suckers. I am a member of Sigma Tau Delta, and English Honorary Society. This is my third year working with the Writing Center. I enjoy writing, reading, and exploring.

Eric Watts

I'm from Ontario, OH. I'm a junior double majoring in Computer Science and Music. I like to play video games and write music!

Gracie Wilson

My name is Gracie Wilson and I am a Junior at Ashland University. I am from Johnstown, Ohio which is near Columbus (Go Bucks!) and am majoring in digital media journalism with a double minor in public relations and religion. Along with school, I am also involved in the Honors Program, Theta Phi Alpha sorority, the editing staff for the Collegian, and on campus Bible study. When I'm not in school, I love spending time with my family and friends, listening to music, and reading.

Jaion Harris

Hi, I am Jaion D. Harris. I am a senior from Maple Heights, Ohio. My majors are Creative Writing and English. I like to read, write, draw, and to try many different types of activities. I also like to play videogames and watch anime on my free time as well. I'm inspire to be an author after I graduate. 

Julia Hines

I'm from Bryan, Ohio where Dum Dum suckers are made--and that's about all it has. I'm double majoring in English and Creative Writing with minors in religion, ethics, and math. I'm a senior, and I've loved my time at AU. I'm a member of Theta Phi Alpha, the President of Eagles for PRIDE, and a member of University Choir. I've been to three countries so far (Canada, Germany, and Ireland), but I'd love to visit more. 

Madeline Worcester

My name is Madeline Worcester, and I'm a sophomore majoring in Integrated Language Arts. I grew up roughly an hour from Ashland in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. In my free time, I love to read, draw, listen to music, and write anything from poetry to novels. On campus, I am also involved with organizations such as Newman Catholic Campus Ministries, Astronomy Club, and the Honors Program. I look forward to my first semester in the Writing Center!

Mark Gorsuch

I am from Ashland Ohio, and am majoring in religion with minors in social work, sociology, and history. I'm the youngest of five, and have a twin sister.

Rachel Barkley

I am from Uhrichsville, Ohio. I am a senior this year double-majoring in English and Creative Writing with a minor in French. I enjoy writing, reading, and spending time with my husky, Bandit.

Rhyan Opel

My name is Rhyan Opel, and I am a sophomore at AU majoring in Political Science and History. I am a member of the Ashbrook Scholars Program as well as the Honors Program. I enjoy exploring and adventuring, singing, writing, doing yoga, listening to music, and spending time with friends and family. On campus, I sing with the Ashland Area Chorus and am the historian for Phi Alpha Theta.

Ryan Corkrean

Hello, my name is Ryan Corkrean and I am a junior from Columbus, Ohio. I am a Marketing major with a minor in Management. I am looking to eventually get involved in the business world. I love athletics and play on the football team here at Ashland. I also enjoy snowboarding in the winter months. I look forward to meeting you.

Sam Coon

Hi! I’m Sam, a junior studying Spanish and international business with a minor in global studies. I’m from Mansfield, Ohio, and I’m a commuter. In my free time I enjoy playing with my dog Calvin, watching YouTube videos, and listening to music. I also love to travel and have had the opportunity to study abroad twice! I’m excited to be working on campus again. See you soon!

Sara Ludwig

Hi, my name is Sara Ludwig and I am a senior. I am an English and Creative Writing double major with a French and Business Administration double minor. I am an Ohio native and grew up in Strongsville, OH, which is less than an hour from AU. Currently I am in the AU Honors Program and this is my third year working in the Writing Studio. My passions include reading, singing and of course writing.

Sarah Yeaste

I’m from Ashland, Ohio. I plan to major in Early Childhood Education and English. I love reading, writing, and helping others. I love all things Disney and Harry Potter. My friends would describe me as kind, empathetic, intelligent, and friendly.

Shelby Stoltz

Hello! My name is Shelby Stoltz and I am an Integrated Language Arts Education major from the Ashland area. I am a member of the Honors Program and of the Commuter Eagles Club. I enjoy spending my free time with my husband and daughter, watching Dora the Explorer and chasing imaginary tigers around the house! I enjoy nonfiction writing, historical documentaries, and collecting old McGuffey's Readers. I look forward to working with you at the writing center!
