The AMuLit Center Communication Coaches

The AMuLit Center is staffed by undergraduate students from across the universtiy working as coaches. These coaches are trained to provide one-on-one support for students who visit the AMuLit with assignments or projects from any class. Meet our coaches here:

Abigail McDonald

Hi! I’m Abigail McDonald. I am from Circleville, OH. I am a double major with Social Work and Spanish. I am a junior and this is my second year at AU. I love the beach, flowers, and meeting new people! I can’t wait to help others with my knowledge, as a tutor and in my future field!

Akosua Dankwa

I was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio and I'm originally from Ghana. I am majoring in nursing which means that I have a background in science courses like anatomy and chemistry. I aspire to be a nurse practitioner in the future. I would say, I am pretty chill and I just go with the flow. I enjoy helping others achieve their goals which is the reason why I decided to work here.

Alex DeBord

My name is Alex DeBord and I am a junior from Sparta, Ohio. I am majoring in Nursing with a minor in psychology. I hope to attain my BSN and become a registered nurse, then a nurse-midwife. I am also a member of the Honors College. I like to spend my free time running, working out and hanging out with family and friends.

Ellie Jensen

I am a senior Integrated Language Arts major from Midland, Michigan. I played volleyball for 10 years and I absolutely love music. Harry Styles is my favorite. I am a huge dog person and I have a goldendoodle named Winnie!

Drew Creger

Hey! My name is Drew Creger, and I’m a fourth year English major who is from the small town of Hudson, Michigan. I currently work on campus as an RA and as the social media coordinator for the English department. Outside of work and school, I enjoy playing video games, running, and spending time with friends and family.

Gabe Del Valle

My name is Gabe Del Valle and I am from Lorain, Ohio. I am freshman majoring in political science. I enjoy being outdoors and taking naps. I have a lot of fun playing ultimate frisbee.

Kara Hollinger

I am a senior Integrated Language Arts Education major! I live in a small town called New Madison, Ohio. I spend most of my time as a Young Life Leader at Ashland High School and getting coffee with my roommate.

Madeline Worcester

My name is Madeline Worcester, and I'm a junior majoring in Integrated Language Arts. I grew up roughly an hour from Ashland in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. In my free time, I love reading, drawing, listening to music, and writing anything from poetry to novels. On campus, I am also involved with organizations such as Newman Catholic Campus Ministries, Astronomy Club, Eagles for Pride, and the Honors Program. I look forward to working in the AMuLit Center again this year!

Melan White

My name is Melan White. I’m from Cincinnati, Ohio and I am a double major in Mathematics and Creative Writing. I am somewhere in between a junior and senior and I do a bit of everything at AU. From playing lacrosse, to being on the Black Student Alliance board, to being a member of Eagles for Pride, I try hard to stay involved with organizations that are pushing to make AU a campus with a more inclusive culture. In my free time I like to read and write poetry and prose.

Melissa Crisan

Hello everyone! My name is Melissa Crisan and I am excited to be working as a Communication Coach this year! I am currently a sophomore with junior standing majoring in both English and Creative Writing. Originally, I was born and raised in Cleveland, but currently live in Kingsville, a rural township up north in Ashtabula county. I have a passion for stories, writing, and all things nerdy, including video games, anime/manga, D&D, Magic, and so much more. When I'm not geeking out, I spend most of my time jamming out to rock music or exploring new places with friends!

Skylar Roberts

I am from Akron, Ohio. I am double majoring in English and Integrated Language Arts with a minor in Creative Writing. My goal is to first be a high school English teacher, preferably in an inner city. I want to show students that they can find an outlet in English. I want my students to feel like they have a place that they can come to express themselves with no judgment. After teaching high school, I’d love to eventually go back to school for my masters and doctorate so that I can teach at a college level one day.
