Assistant or Associate Professor of Finance (Tenure-Track)
Ashland University Dauch College of Business and Economics, Department of Economics and Finance, is seeking candidates for Assistant or Associate Professor of Finance. Two (2) tenure-track positions are available beginning August 2019. The candidates will teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in Finance.
The Department of Economics and Finance is one of four departments with the Dauch College of Business and Economics. Including the Department Chair, there are seven faculty members in the department. The department includes majors in Finance (tracks in Asset Management and Corporate) and Economics, and currently has 90 undergraduate majors and 40 minors. An MBA specialization in Finance also is offered. The department operates a fully-equipped trading room used by the finance program's Eagle Investment Group, which manages $1.6 million of the University's endowment.
Essential Position Duties and Responsibilities:
Excellence in teaching is required with a 4/4 load. The candidates are also expected to conduct scholarly activities in their area of concentration and to participate in service activities to the University, community, and profession. Candidates are also required to direct the program's student-run Eagle Investment Group.
Candidates must hold an earned doctorate from an accredited institution in an appropriate field. Previous teaching experience, including demonstrated ability to teach effectively in a technology-facilitated environment, as well as in a traditional classroom setting, is a requirement. Critical qualification for this position is extensive industry experience in investment management. Subject content areas include asset management, security analysis, portfolio management, and risk management.
