Assistant Professor of Software Engineering (Tenure-Track) - College of Arts and Sciences
The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Ashland University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Software Engineering position, beginning August 2019. The department offers a major and a minor in computer science as well as a major in software design and development. The University is currently in the process of creating an interdisciplinary Center for Information Sciences (iCenter) that includes the software design and development program.
The teaching load is twelve (12) credit hours per semester primarily in support of the software design and development program. The successful candidate will teach a variety of undergraduate courses including introduction to software engineering, software quality and configuration management, software project management, and capstone project. The successful candidate is also expected to provide service to the institution and engage in scholarly activity.
Ph.D. in Software Engineering or in a strongly related field with a Master’s degree in Software Engineering is required, along with teaching experience with demonstrated excellence. Strong ABD candidates will be considered. Preference will be given to candidates with work experience in the software engineering industry and demonstrated interest in mentoring undergraduate research.
