Visiting Assistant Professor of Cyber Security - College of Arts and Sciences
The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Ashland University invites applications for a renewable Visiting Assistant Professor of Cyber Security position, beginning August 2019. The department offers a major and a minor in Cyber Security as well as a major and a minor in Computer Science. The University is currently in the process of creating an interdisciplinary Center for Information Sciences (iCenter) that includes the cyber security program.
Essential Position Duties and Responsibilities:
The teaching load is twelve (12) credit hours per semester primarily in support of the cyber security program. The successful candidate will teach a variety of undergraduate courses including fundamentals of computer security, digital forensics, Windows security, Linux security, mobile security, and computer networks. The successful candidate is also expected to provide service to the institution and engage in scholarly activity.
A doctorate degree in information security or in a strongly related field with a master's degree in cybersecurity-related discipline is required, along with teaching experience with demonstrated excellence. Strong ABD candidates will be considered. Preference will be given to candidates with work experience in the information security industry and demonstrated interest in mentoring undergraduate research.
