Workers' Compensation

All employees are covered under workers’ compensation insurance, which provides for benefits in case of certain on-the-job injuries.

Each person is required to report any occupational accident or illness to the appropriate supervisor immediately. Record of Occupational Injury and Illness forms, which are used to report any occurrence of an on-the-job accident, are available in the Human Resources Office.

Tuition Waiver & Exchange

One of the unique benefits of your employment at Ashland University is the availability of educational benefits for you, your spouse and your eligible dependent children.  The complete Tuition Grants and Waivers/Off-Campus Tuition Exchange Policy can be found in the Employee Handbook (Hourly or Administrative). Life Insurance

Effective June 1, 2016, Ashland University's life insurance provider is Securian.

Ashland University offers employees Group Life/Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) & Short Disability and Long Term Disability. Voluntary Life and AD&D is also available.

Flexible Spending Account Information

Ashland University's Flex Spending Account administrator is Wage Works. 

IRS Maximum Contribution to Flexible Spending Accounts

The IRS has set the maximum contribution to a Healthcare FSA at $2,550 for 2016. The Dependent Care FSA maximum will remain $5,000. AU participates in the Healthcare FSA with Carryover, which does include the carryover of $500 from one plan year to the next for employees enrolled in the Healthcare FSA.
