Financial Aid - Online Criminal Justice Program

Students in the Online Criminal Justice program may be eligible for Federal and State grants and Federal Direct Loans. To apply for aid, complete the steps below.

Please note that aid will disburse for each term on the second Friday of the second class. This is especially important if your aid will create a credit balance on your account. No refund will be issued until aid is disbursed.

Students who apply for loans late may need to pay for tuition temporarily (i.e., credit card) until the loan is processed. Students may then request a refund check from the Student Accounts Office after the loan has been applied to his/her account and after attending the first class session.

Graduate loan applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Once you have a financial aid award available, you may view it on WebAdvisor. Students must reapply for financial aid each year. For more information on priority deadlines, see “Important Dates” at the left.

Step 1  Apply — The FSA ID has replaced the Federal PIN. You will be prompted to create your FSA ID when you log on to the FAFSA website. Complete your FAFSA using Ashland University’s school code 003012. It is recommended that you file the FAFSA at least 60 days prior to enrollment. This helps to ensure that aid is in place before the start of the term. If you have not completed your taxes, please file your FAFSA on time with estimated tax figures and update your FAFSA when they are complete.  Watch "7 Easy Steps to the FAFSA" for a helpful tutorial.
Step 2  Review Award — Review your award on WebAdvisor. Current students and registered incoming students whose awards are revised will receive notice through Ashland University email when their Financial Aid Award is available for viewing. Be sure to check your Ashland University email account frequently for important notices from the Financial Aid Office.
Step 3  Complete Loan Processes — For any loans listed on your award letter that you wish to take advantage of, complete required processes if you have not already done so. If you wish to cancel or reduce any of your loans, please send us your request in writing to Federal Stafford Loans listed on your award will be processed unless you tell us otherwise.
