Spring 2019 Commencement Ceremony
The Spring 2019 Commencement ceremony is Saturday, May 4, 2019, at 10 a.m. at the Dwight Schar Athletic Complex's Miller Stadium. The procession will begin around 9:50 a.m. and all graduates are to assemble at 9 a.m. at the Ferguson Soccer Complex, which is just southwest of Miller Stadium. Information there will show you how to line up in the assigned areas according to the degree received. You should go to these areas and line up alphabetically.
The time schedule is as follows:
9 a.m. Graduates line up in assigned area, by degree, alphabetically and double line. During this lineup, each graduate will be given a card with his or her name and honors listed.
9:45 a.m. The marshal will lead graduates toward Miller Stadium. As they reach the back of the stadium, graduates will stand on each edge of the walkway so that faculty can march between the lines of students.
9:50 a.m. The faculty will proceed to seating in the stadium while students will follow the platform party and proceed to seating on the stadium floor as the band begins to play the processional.
In the event of rain, the ceremony will be held in Kates Gymnasium inside the Physical Education Center and lineup for all graduating students will be in the Conard Field House located just west of the Physical Education Center. Each undergraduate student and each graduate student will receive three tickets for this indoor event, and they will receive these tickets when they pick up their cap and gown. Overflow seating will be available in the Jack and Deb Miller Chapel, the Student Center Eagles’ Nest and the Student Center Auditorium, where the ceremony will be broadcast live at each venue. The event also will be broadcast on the www.ashland.edu website.
