Ashbrook Colloquium to Feature Senior Historian

Michael Feldberg, Ph.D., executive director and senior historian for the George Washington Institute for Religious Freedom, will be speaking on the topic of “American Jews and Religious Liberty” at the Ashbrook Center Colloquium on Friday, Feb. 26, at 3 p.m. in the Ashbrook Center, located on the eighth floor of the Library on the Ashland University campus.

Prior to being named executive director and senior historian for the George Washington Institute, Feldberg served as executive director and director of research at the American Jewish Historical Society.

He has taught American history at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice of the City University of New York and at UMass Boston. He also directed the Criminal Justice Program at Boston University.

The author of several books, Feldberg is most recently a co-editor of Washington’s Rebuke to Bigotry: Reflections on George Washington’s Famous 1790 Letter to the Hebrew Congregation in Newport, R.I.
