Internship Guidelines

An internship is required for Commerical Art Majors and is a powerful experience and learning opportunity suggested for all Art Majors. 

Below you will find information to help you plan your internship experience.



Internship Learning Contract

  • This learning contract must be completed and signed accordingly before registering for internship credit.
  • This learning contract must be submitted to the Office of Records and Registration BEFORE beginning your internship.
  • Each student will need to have this form approved and signed by: Faculty Internship Advisor, Academic Department Chair, the Student, the Internship Site Supervisor, and a representative of the Career Services Center. (Please bring it to the Career Services Center after collecting all the other signatures.)

Opportunity for Internship / Job at Maurer Photography in Ashland

Position opening after the first of the year.

It could conceivably start as an internship but looking for someone to stay on full time.

*  Solid understanding on how to use a
digital camera.
*  Someone who is skilled/proficient in Photoshop and has good graphic
design skills.
*  Someone who has a good sense of composition.
*  Someone who has a lively personality and works well with people.  

Willing to mentor the right person and would like to see
this person eventually be the lead photographer/graphic designer.

Winter Internship Opportunity 

Stipend / Salary: $2100

The mansfield art center seeks an intern to assist in several capacities including but not limited to social media, the education department and administrative duties in the gallery shop.

Examples of Duties:

  • Update social media sites such as FB and Twitter
  • Write and send press releases 
  • Distribute flyers
  • Assist instructors
  • Customer Service
  • Set up for events
  • Greet visitors
  • Receive and process new inventory
  • Ring of Sales
  • Update memberships in database

Work Schedule will be negotiated based on student's availability.

Education – National Partnerships

The National Partnerships intern learns about the field of arts education from a national perspective. The intern assists with communications and contracting, prepares educational materials, and prepares for and attends meetings. The intern learns how to write, design, and maintain an effective monthly e-newsletter and assists in the planning, preparation, and execution of multi-day conferences for arts education leaders from across the country.
