In the art education program at Ashland University, the student’s journey combines exploring ones own creative path with learning to direct the creative experience of others.
With the goal of sharing their love of art and creativity, art education students at AU explore their personal artistic inclinations, grow in their understanding of learners of all ages and develop the teaching skills needed to share the world of art with them. Each art education student develops as an artist, experiences a variety of media, and culminates that growth with a senior exhibition. Along the way the art education student learns how to share these experiences with others and has ample opportunity to practice teaching in a variety of settings and with a variety of age groups.
Our art education graduates find jobs teaching in preK-12 schools locally and around the country. Many find inspiration in the teaching experience as it becomes part of their personal artistic journey.
