Sticks and Stones and Words is a student-run anti-bullying group associated with the Ashland Center for Nonviolence. This group is dedicated to empowering students at local schools to stand up to bullying. Rather than just talking to students about bullying, Sticks and Stones and Words performs a skit depicting a bullying situation that ends badly for the victim. The audience is then invited to replace or create a character to try to change the situation so that the bullying is prevented or ended. After several interventions have been tried, the group discusses with the audience what worked, what didn't work and why.
