In May 2013, I graduated from Ashland University with a degree in BioChemistry and a minor in Theology. In the beginning of my junior year in college, I had decided I wanted to attend medical school after graduation. Soon after, I talked with several faculty members in the science department at Ashland about my career plans. The entire staff was unbelievably helpful. They encouraged me to start shadowing physicians, applying for internships and adding scientific research into my class schedule. With their help and guidance, I have been able to take part in several internships including a summer at MetroHealth Hospital in Cleveland and a gap year at Mercy Medical Center in Canton. Through all of these experiences, I will be ready to apply to medical schools this summer.
