Chief Probation Officer Oberlin Municipal Court

My experience at Ashland University in the Criminal Justice Department was amazing. The professors used real life experiences as a part of their teaching tools which made the classes more interesting and relevant.

My criminal justice advisor, Dr. Craig, placed me in an internship at Oberlin Municipal Court in the Probation Department during my senior year. As a result of my internship through Ashland University’s Criminal Justice Department, I was hired at Oberlin Municipal Court as a Probation Officer. In 2012 I was promoted to Chief Probation Officer of the department. I attribute this success to my experience at Ashland University. Our department supervises misdemeanor offenders on Intensive and Basic Probation, writes Pre-Sentence Reports and recommends bond conditions to the court.
