Lisa Hamer Jenkins

Lisa Hamer-Jenkins

Lisa Hamer-Jenkins, a social work graduate, currently works as the Dementia Coordinator for Community LIFE in Pittsburgh, PA. Some of her duties in this position include, supervising hands-on staff, coordinating with the Activities Coordinator to plan therapeutic activities for both groups and individuals and organizing community outreach/education events. Jenkins chose AU’s program due to its reputation and small size. “I wanted a program where I would know my professors and they would know me, a program where we would sit in small groups and have detailed discussions, a program where I would be able to discover myself and the social worker I wanted to be,” she said. Jenkins also stated that in her social work classes, fantastic conversations were held that analyzed people, their problems and policies that would or would not help. “All of the world’s problems were solved in the AU social work classrooms!”
