Accelerating Your Canvas

After you learn the technical aspects of the painting process, you’re ready to pursue your individual artistic vision.

It’s important for you to coordinate and control all aspects of the painting process in order to express yourself fully. You’ll learn how to build your conceptual awareness and to research the historical and contemporary influences in order to build connections between work and culture.

As an advanced painter, you’ll be increasingly expected to pose your own creative problems, to which your paintings become the solution, or at least the basis for the next problem. You’ll learn how to make work with an articulated artistic intent supported by writing, and to address issues in regular open critiques.
