Bio

  • Joined Ashland University faculty in 2018 and serves as chair of the Department of Communication Studies
  • Research encompasses interpersonal communication, conflict resolution, health communication, and message design
  • Served as associate dean for Liberal Arts at the Metropolitan campus of Cuyahoga Community College
  • Was tenured associate professor at the University of Nevada, Reno, and served as chair of the Department of Communication Studies at the University of Nevada for seven years. Also volunteered for eight years as a mediator in the local Reno community and court system
  • Recognized by the Dean of the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Nevada with the Dean’s Special Award for Extraordinary Service in relation to the departmental growth and student-centered activities, and she has received multiple teaching awards and nominations from the National Communication Association, the University of Nevada, Case Western Reserve University and Kent State University
